Pyu people
The Pyu people are an ethnic group primarily found in Myanmar (Burma), known for their distinct cultural and historical heritage. They historically inhabited the Pyu city-states, which flourished between the 1st and 9th centuries CE, playing a vital role in the region's trade and cultural exchanges. The Pyu were influenced by Indian civilization, adopting Buddhism and various aspects of Indian culture. Today, the Pyu people are part of Myanmar's diverse social fabric, still retaining some of their unique traditions and language, though they face challenges in preserving their identity in a rapidly changing society.
