Pyu script
Pyu script is an ancient writing system developed by the Pyu city-states in Myanmar around the 1st century CE. It is a variant of early Brahmi-derived scripts, used mainly for inscriptions and religious texts. The script consists of symbols representing sounds or words and is typically engraved on stone or metal. It played a key role in the cultural and religious development of ancient Myanmar. Though largely extinct today, Pyu script provides valuable insights into early Southeast Asian history, language, and the spread of Buddhism in the region.
