Progress in History, in terms of Philosophy of History, refers to the idea that human history is not just a series of random events, but rather a systematic advancement towards better conditions. It's the belief that over time, societies develop, improve and advance in areas like science, technology, governance, and culture, moving from a state of 'less developed' to 'more advanced'. This is not always linear and can involve setbacks or periods of stagnation. It's an understanding of history that sees it as a stage for human progress.
