Pahlavi Dynasty

The Pahlavi Dynasty was the ruling family of Iran from 1925 until the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Founded by Reza Shah Pahlavi, the dynasty aimed to modernize and secularize Iran, promoting industry, education, and infrastructure. Reza Shah's son, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, took power after his father's abdication in 1941, continuing modernization efforts but facing increasing opposition. The dynasty was marked by rapid change and authoritarian rule, leading to widespread discontent. In 1979, following mass protests against the Shah's regime, the monarchy was overthrown, resulting in the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
