
Norman Borlaug (Agricultural Scientist)
Norman Borlaug was an American agricultural scientist known as the "father of the Green Revolution." He developed high-yielding, disease-resistant wheat varieties that significantly increased food production in countries like Mexico and India during the 20th century. His work helped avert famine and improved food security for millions. Borlaug's innovative agricultural techniques, including better farming practices and the use of fertilizers, transformed agriculture and demonstrated the potential of science in addressing global hunger. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970 for his contributions to improving food supply and promoting peace through agricultural advancement.
