Nivolumab
Nivolumab is a type of immunotherapy drug used to treat certain cancers. It works by helping the immune system recognize and attack cancer cells more effectively. Normally, the immune system can be hindered by the cancer's ability to hide, but Nivolumab blocks specific proteins that cancer uses to evade immune detection. By doing so, it unleashes the immune response against tumors, potentially shrinking or stopping their growth. It is used for cancers like melanoma, lung, and kidney cancers, among others, and is administered through an IV in a medical setting.
