Cancer vaccines

Cancer vaccines are designed to boost the body’s immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells. Unlike traditional vaccines that prevent diseases, cancer vaccines can help treat existing cancers or prevent them from returning. They work by exposing the immune system to specific proteins found on cancer cells, which trains it to identify and destroy those cells. There are two main types: preventive vaccines, which aim to stop cancer from developing, and therapeutic vaccines, which treat cancer by stimulating an immune response.
