Meyer and Allen model
The Meyer and Allen model describes three types of commitment that employees can have towards their organization: 1. **Affective Commitment**: emotional attachment to the organization, where employees feel joy and a sense of belonging. 2. **Continuance Commitment**: a sense of obligation to stay with the organization due to perceived costs of leaving, such as loss of benefits or relationships. 3. **Normative Commitment**: a feeling of duty or responsibility to remain with the organization, often influenced by personal values or external pressures. Understanding these types helps organizations foster a positive work environment and improve retention.
