Lunar Polarity
Lunar polarity refers to the way the Moon's gravitational effects create differences in the Earth's water levels, leading to tides. As the Moon orbits the Earth, its gravity pulls on the oceans, causing water to bulge out on the side of the Earth facing the Moon and on the opposite side. This results in high tides in these areas and lower tides in between. The term "polarity" highlights the contrasting tidal effects created by the Moon’s position relative to the Earth, influencing coastal ecosystems and navigation.
