Light Metering
Light metering is a technique used in photography and videography to measure the amount of light in a scene. This measurement helps the camera determine the right exposure settings—such as aperture, shutter speed, and ISO—to ensure that an image is neither too bright nor too dark. There are different types of light meters, including reflective, which measures light bouncing off subjects, and incident, which measures light falling on a scene. By accurately assessing light levels, photographers can capture images that are well-exposed and true to the original scene's brightness.
