Ketoacidosis
Ketoacidosis is a serious medical condition that occurs when the body produces high levels of acids called ketones, typically due to a lack of insulin, often seen in people with diabetes. When the body doesn't have enough glucose for energy, it starts breaking down fat, leading to ketone buildup. This can cause the blood to become acidic, resulting in symptoms like nausea, vomiting, confusion, and, in severe cases, coma. Ketoacidosis requires immediate medical attention to safely restore insulin levels and stabilize the body's pH balance.
