Ischemic Heart Disease
Ischemic Heart Disease (also known as coronary artery disease) occurs when the blood flow to the heart muscle is reduced due to narrowed or blocked coronary arteries. This limitation results from the buildup of fatty deposits called plaques, which restrict oxygen and nutrient supply needed for the heart to function properly. Symptoms may include chest pain (angina), shortness of breath, or fatigue. If untreated, it can lead to serious complications like heart attacks. Managing risk factors such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, smoking, and lifestyle choices can help prevent or control the condition.
