Hyperhydration
Hyperhydration refers to the condition of having an excess amount of water in the body, which can disrupt the balance of electrolytes. This can happen if a person drinks excessive amounts of water in a short time, often during intense exercise or hot weather. The kidneys may struggle to remove the surplus water, leading to diluted sodium levels in the blood, a condition known as hyponatremia. Symptoms can range from mild, like headaches and nausea, to severe, potentially causing confusion, seizures, or even life-threatening complications. It's important to maintain a balanced intake of fluids.
