Human Development Index

The Human Development Index (HDI) is a measure used to assess a country's overall social and economic development. It takes into account three key factors: life expectancy at birth (health), education level (measured by years of schooling and literacy), and per capita income (economic prosperity). Each of these components is combined to produce a score between 0 and 1, where higher values indicate better development. The HDI provides a broader perspective on human well-being beyond just economic growth, helping to compare the quality of life in different countries and guide policy-making for improvement.
