Haiti's Revolution
Haiti’s Revolution, which took place from 1791 to 1804, was a successful slave uprising against French colonial rule. Enslaved Africans, led by figures such as Toussaint Louverture, fought for their freedom and rights, ultimately overthrowing the French. The revolution resulted in the establishment of Haiti as the first independent Black republic and the second independent nation in the Americas, following the United States. It also sparked discussions about slavery and human rights worldwide. The revolution profoundly influenced other independence movements and challenged colonialism, making Haiti a symbol of resistance and freedom.
