George II of Great Britain

George II of Great Britain reigned from 1727 to 1760, becoming the first British monarch born in the country. He was part of the House of Hanover, succeeding his father, George I. His reign saw the expansion of British influence worldwide, especially through wars like the War of Jenkins' Ear and the Seven Years' War. George II was known for his strong personality and support of the arts, particularly overseeing the establishment of the British Museum. Despite his efforts, he faced political challenges, including conflicts with Parliament and his son, Frederick, Prince of Wales. He died in 1760 and was succeeded by his grandson, George III.
