Hanoverian
The term "Hanoverian" primarily refers to the House of Hanover, a royal dynasty that originated in Germany and became significant in British history. In 1714, King George I, a Hanoverian prince, ascended the British throne, marking the beginning of a series of Hanoverian monarchs. This period saw the establishment of a constitutional monarchy and significant political changes in Britain, including the strengthening of Parliament's role. The Hanoverians ruled until the death of Queen Victoria in 1901, after which the monarchy transitioned to the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, later renamed the House of Windsor.
