Embodiment Theory
Embodiment theory posits that our understanding of the world is rooted in our physical experiences and bodily interactions. It suggests that cognitive processes, such as thinking and reasoning, are deeply connected to our sensory and motor experiences. For example, how we perceive space, emotions, and even abstract concepts, can be influenced by our physical state and activities. Essentially, our bodies shape our thoughts, meaning that knowledge isn’t just a mental construct but also involves our physical being and interactions with the environment.
