Council of Guardians

The Council of Guardians, also known as the Guardian Council, is an important body in Iran's political system. It consists of twelve members, six appointed by the Supreme Leader and six by the parliament, tasked with ensuring that laws comply with Islamic principles and the constitution. They also oversee elections, vetting candidates and maintaining the integrity of the electoral process.
