Byzantine History

Byzantine History refers to the period of the Eastern Roman Empire, which lasted from approximately the 4th to the 15th centuries. After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire thrived in the eastern Mediterranean, centered in Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul). It was known for its unique blend of Greek, Roman, and Christian influences, as well as its advancements in art, architecture, and law. The empire played a crucial role in preserving classical knowledge and faced numerous challenges, including invasions and internal strife, ultimately falling to the Ottoman Turks in 1453.
