Bonnie Prince Charlie

Bonnie Prince Charlie, also known as Charles Edward Stuart, was a Scottish prince from the Stuart family who sought to reclaim the British throne for his family in the mid-18th century. In 1745, he led the Jacobite uprising, rallying Scottish clans to restore his father’s claim, and gained initial support by capturing Edinburgh. However, his campaign ultimately failed after the Battle of Culloden in 1746, ending hopes of restoring the Stuarts. He became a romanticized heroic figure in Scottish history, symbolizing resistance to political change and the struggle for Scottish independence.
