Jacobite propaganda

Jacobite propaganda refers to the efforts made by supporters of the deposed Stuart monarchy in Britain, particularly during the 17th and 18th centuries. After James II was ousted in 1688, Jacobites aimed to restore him and his descendants to the throne. They used pamphlets, songs, art, and speeches to promote their cause, often emphasizing themes of rightful kingship, loyalty, and national identity. This propaganda sought to garner support from the public and rally troops, framing their struggle as a noble and legitimate fight against oppression, while advocating for the ideals of divine right and Scottish nationalism.
