BMI (Body Mass Index)

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a numerical value that helps assess whether a person has a healthy body weight relative to their height. It is calculated by dividing a person's weight in kilograms by the square of their height in meters. The resulting number is then categorized: underweight, normal weight, overweight, or obese. While BMI is a useful screening tool for population-level health, it doesn’t account for factors like muscle mass or body composition. Therefore, it should be used alongside other measurements and health assessments for a more complete picture of an individual’s health.
