Blackbeard (Edward Teach)

Edward Teach, commonly known as Blackbeard, was a notorious English pirate who operated in the Caribbean and along the American colonies during the early 18th century, notably from about 1716 to 1718. He is famous for his fearsome appearance, notably his long black beard and intimidating persona. Blackbeard commanded the ship Queen Anne's Revenge and was known for his dramatic tactics, like tying slow-burning fuses into his beard to create a terrifying image in battle. His life of piracy ended in a fierce battle with British naval forces in 1718, solidifying his legacy as one of history's most infamous pirates.
