Battle of Tarain
The Battle of Tarain in 1191 was a significant conflict between the forces of the invading Muslim ruler Muhammad Ghori and the Rajput king Prithvi Raj Chauhan. Taking place near present-day Haryana, India, the battle was a fierce struggle for control over northern India. Prithvi Raj's forces initially triumphed, defeating Ghori's army and demonstrating the strength of the Rajput warriors. This battle set the stage for future conflicts, as Ghori would return the following year for a second attempt to conquer the region, ultimately changing the course of Indian history.
