Balloon Angioplasty

Balloon angioplasty is a medical procedure used to treat narrowed or blocked blood vessels, often due to fatty deposits called plaques. During the procedure, a thin, flexible tube with a small balloon at its tip is inserted into the affected blood vessel through a small incision. Once in place, the balloon is inflated, which expands the vessel and improves blood flow. This can relieve symptoms like chest pain or prevent heart attacks. Sometimes, a stent (a small mesh tube) is placed to help keep the vessel open after the balloon is deflated and removed.

Balloon angioplasty is a medical procedure used to treat narrowed or blocked blood vessels, often due to fat deposits called plaques. During the procedure, a doctor inserts a thin tube with a small balloon at its tip into the affected artery. Once in place, the balloon is inflated, which pushes the plaques against the artery walls, widening the vessel and improving blood flow. Afterward, the balloon is deflated and removed. This minimally invasive technique can relieve symptoms, improve heart function, and reduce risks associated with heart disease, such as heart attacks.
