angioplasty balloon

An angioplasty balloon is a small device used during a procedure to open narrowed or blocked blood vessels, usually around the heart. It consists of a tiny, flexible balloon attached to a thin tube called a catheter. The doctor threads the balloon to the problem area via blood vessels, then inflates it to gently press the blocked material against the sides of the vessel, restoring proper blood flow. Once the vessel is widened, the balloon is deflated and removed. This procedure can improve blood flow and reduce symptoms of heart disease.
