Stents

A stent is a small, mesh-like tube made of metal or synthetic material that doctors insert into a clogged or narrowed blood vessel, typically in the heart, to keep it open. After a procedure called angioplasty widens the artery, the stent acts as a scaffold, supporting the vessel walls and ensuring proper blood flow. It reduces the risk of the artery narrowing again, helping to prevent heart attacks and improve heart function. Stents are a common, minimally invasive treatment that can significantly improve quality of life for individuals with vascular blockages.
