Astigmatism

Astigmatism is a common vision condition caused by an irregular shape of the cornea or lens in the eye, leading to blurred or distorted vision. Instead of being perfectly round, the cornea may be shaped more like a football, which affects how light focuses on the retina. This can result in difficulty seeing clearly at various distances. Symptoms may include eye strain, headaches, and trouble with night vision. Astigmatism can often be diagnosed during a routine eye exam and is typically corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery.
