André Breton was a French writer and poet, best known as the founder of Surrealism, an artistic and literary movement that sought to explore the unconscious mind and challenge conventional reality. His 1924 manifesto outlined surrealism's goals, emphasizing spontaneity and the fusion of reality and fantasy.
