Adjustment Disorders
Adjustment disorders are a type of emotional response to a significant life change or stressor, such as losing a job, going through a divorce, or experiencing a major illness. People with adjustment disorders may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed as they struggle to cope with these changes. Unlike more severe mental health conditions, adjustment disorders typically arise within three months of the triggering event and often resolve within six months once the individual adapts. Treatment usually involves therapy and support to help the person manage their feelings and develop coping strategies.
