
William T. Sherman
William T. Sherman was a prominent Union general during the American Civil War, best known for his innovative military strategies and his concept of total war. Born in 1820, he played a crucial role in major battles, including the Siege of Atlanta and his famous “March to the Sea” in 1864. This campaign involved destroying supply lines and infrastructure to weaken the Confederacy’s capacity to fight. Sherman's tactics significantly contributed to the Union's victory.
