Ultraviolet Radiation (UVR)
Ultraviolet Radiation (UVR) is a type of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the sun, which is invisible to the human eye. It is divided into three categories: UVA, UVB, and UVC. UVA rays can penetrate the skin deeply and are associated with aging, while UVB rays are responsible for sunburn and can contribute to skin cancer. UVC rays are mostly absorbed by the Earth's atmosphere and don't typically reach the surface. While UVR can have beneficial effects, like aiding in vitamin D production, excessive exposure can lead to skin damage and increased cancer risk, highlighting the importance of sun protection.
