Transrapid
Transrapid is a high-speed magnetic levitation (maglev) train system developed in Germany. Unlike traditional trains that run on tracks, Transrapid trains hover above the track using powerful magnets, allowing for smoother and faster travel at speeds exceeding 300 kilometers per hour (roughly 186 miles per hour). The lack of physical contact reduces friction, making rides quieter and more energy-efficient. Though primarily showcased in test runs, Transrapid has influenced high-speed rail technologies worldwide, demonstrating the potential for faster and more efficient public transportation systems.
