Shanghai Maglev Train
The Shanghai Maglev Train is a high-speed transportation system that uses magnetic levitation to lift and propel the train above its tracks, eliminating friction. Opened in 2004, it connects Shanghai's city center with its airport, covering about 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) in just 7-8 minutes. It can reach speeds of up to 431 kilometers per hour (268 miles per hour), making it one of the fastest commercial trains in the world. The technology allows for smoother and quieter rides compared to traditional trains, showcasing advancements in modern engineering and public transport.
