Levitating trains, or maglev trains, use magnetic forces to lift and propel the train above the tracks, eliminating friction. This is achieved through powerful magnets that create a magnetic field, allowing the train to hover a few centimeters above the ground. Since there’s no contact with the tracks, maglev trains can travel at much higher speeds and are smoother than conventional trains. They are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, making them a promising technology for future transportation. Examples include the Shinkansen in Japan and the Shanghai Maglev in China.
