Toxoplasmosis
Toxoplasmosis is an infection caused by a parasite called Toxoplasma gondii, commonly found in cat feces and contaminated food or soil. While many people experience no symptoms, it can cause flu-like symptoms in some and can be serious for pregnant women and individuals with weakened immune systems. The parasite can be transmitted through undercooked meat, unwashed fruits, or vegetables, and even through handling cat litter. Most healthy individuals recover on their own, but treatment may be necessary in severe cases. Prevention includes practicing good hygiene and cooking meat thoroughly.
