Theory of Constraints
The Theory of Constraints (TOC) is a management approach aimed at improving processes by identifying and addressing the most significant limiting factor, or "constraint," within a system. This constraint slows down overall performance, so once it's identified, efforts focus on optimizing it. For example, in a manufacturing line, if one machine causes delays, enhancing its efficiency can boost the entire production process. TOC emphasizes continuous improvement by regularly reassessing and tackling new constraints as they emerge, ultimately leading to better overall performance and efficiency.
