Tendon Injuries
Tendon injuries occur when the strong, flexible tissues that connect muscles to bones become damaged. These injuries can result from overuse, sudden trauma, or wear and tear. Common symptoms include pain, swelling, and decreased mobility in the affected area, often seen in the shoulder, elbow, knee, or Achilles tendon. Treatment typically involves rest, ice, compression, and elevation (the RICE method), along with physical therapy. In severe cases, surgery may be required. Preventive measures include proper warm-up, stretching, and avoiding repetitive stress on tendons during physical activities.
