Self-Efficacy Theory

Self-Efficacy Theory, developed by psychologist Albert Bandura, refers to an individual's belief in their ability to succeed in specific situations or accomplish tasks. In the context of general knowledge, it suggests that the more confident a person feels about their ability to learn and apply information, the more likely they are to engage in learning activities and persist through challenges. This belief in one's capability influences motivation, effort, and resilience, ultimately shaping how well one acquires and uses knowledge. Higher self-efficacy leads to better performance and greater achievement in various cognitive tasks.
