Runner's knee

Runner's knee, or patellofemoral pain syndrome, is a common condition affecting the knee, particularly among runners and athletes. It occurs when the kneecap (patella) does not track properly in the groove of the thigh bone, leading to pain around the kneecap during activities like running, jumping, or even sitting for long periods. Factors such as overuse, poor alignment, or weak leg muscles can contribute to this issue. Treatment often involves rest, ice, strengthening exercises, and sometimes physical therapy to improve knee function and prevent recurrence.
