Ranjit Singh

Ranjit Singh (1780–1839) was a prominent leader and the founder of the Sikh Empire in the early 19th century, based in Punjab, which is now part of India and Pakistan. Known as the "Lion of Punjab," he unified various Sikh misls (military groups) and established a powerful state that flourished through strong governance and military might. Ranjit Singh promoted religious tolerance and cultural harmony among different communities.
