Quang Trung (Nguyễn Huệ)

Quang Trung, born Nguyễn Huệ in 1753, was a prominent Vietnamese military leader and the second emperor of the Tây Sơn dynasty. He is best known for his remarkable leadership in the late 18th century, where he successfully unified Vietnam and defeated foreign invaders, particularly during the war against the Qing dynasty in 1789. Quang Trung is celebrated for his military strategies, social reforms, and efforts to improve agriculture, education, and trade. His brief reign, marked by significant achievements, left a lasting legacy in Vietnam’s history, symbolizing resistance and national pride. He died in 1792 at the age of 39.
