Vietnamese independence movements

Vietnamese independence movements were a series of efforts by the Vietnamese people to gain sovereignty and end foreign domination, mainly from France and later Japan and the United States. Starting in the early 20th century, Vietnamese leaders and activists sought self-rule through protests, political organizations, and armed resistance. Notable milestones include the founding of the Communist-led Viet Minh in 1941, which fought against Japanese and French control, culminating in the declaration of independence in 1945. After years of conflict, Vietnam was divided, leading to the Vietnam War, which ended in 1975 with the reunification of the country under a communist government, achieving full independence.
