Pyramid of Khafre

The Pyramid of Khafre, built around 2500 BCE, is the second largest of the three pyramids at Giza, Egypt. It was constructed for Pharaoh Khafre, who was the son of Khufu, the builder of the Great Pyramid. This pyramid stands at about 136 meters (448 feet) tall, originally topped with smooth limestone, giving it a gleaming appearance. An iconic feature is the Sphinx nearby, which bears Khafre’s likeness. The pyramid reflects the ancient Egyptians' architectural skill and religious beliefs, serving as a monumental tomb intended to help the pharaoh's journey to the afterlife.
