Provisional Government of 1914
The Provisional Government of 1914 refers to the temporary authority established in Russia during World War I, following the abdication of Czar Nicholas II in March 1917. It was formed to manage the country until a more stable government could be put in place. The government aimed to implement democratic reforms and continue fighting in the war but struggled with economic issues and widespread discontent. Its inability to address these challenges led to widespread protests and eventually its collapse in October 1917, when the Bolsheviks overthrew it during the Russian Revolution.
