Presidents of India
The President of India is the ceremonial head of state and the highest constitutional authority in the country. Elected by an electoral college, the President serves a five-year term and represents the unity and integrity of the nation. While the role is largely symbolic, the President has important functions, including signing bills into law, appointing the Prime Minister, and overseeing the armed forces. The President also plays a key role in upholding the Constitution and can intervene during political crises. As of now, Droupadi Murmu serves as the first tribal woman to hold this prestigious office.
