physiological pH

Physiological pH refers to the acidity or alkalinity of body fluids, particularly blood, which is normally maintained around a pH of 7.4. This is slightly alkaline, on a scale where 0 is very acidic and 14 is very alkaline. Maintaining this balance is crucial for proper body function, as many biological processes depend on it. Deviations from this range can lead to health issues, such as acidosis (too acidic) or alkalosis (too alkaline), affecting organs and overall metabolic activities. The body employs various mechanisms, like breathing and kidney function, to regulate pH effectively.
