Parliamentarian Army

The Parliamentarian Army was the military force that supported the Parliament during the English Civil War (1642-1651), which was a conflict between those loyal to King Charles I and those who wanted the power of parliament to be stronger. This army was instrumental in challenging the monarchy and promoting ideas of governance based on parliamentary authority. Led prominently by figures like Oliver Cromwell, the Parliamentarians eventually defeated the Royalists, leading to the temporary establishment of a republic in England.
