Parliament of the United Kingdom
The Parliament of the United Kingdom is the UK's main law-making body, consisting of two houses: the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The House of Commons is made up of Members of Parliament (MPs) elected by the public, who debate and pass laws. The House of Lords reviews and suggests amendments to legislation passed by the Commons. Parliament also scrutinizes the government’s work, approves budgets, and represents citizens’ interests. It operates within a constitutional monarchy, where the monarch’s role is mostly ceremonial, while parliamentary decisions shape the country's governance and laws.
